The CNC fines Mediaset €15.6 million for breaching its commitments in the Telecinco/Cuatro merger
The CNC has fined Mediaset España Comunicación, S.A. €15,600,000 for breaching the CNC Council’s Resolution of 28 October 2010 authorising the TELECINCO/CUATRO merger with commitments
In its Resolution of 6 February 2013, the CNC Council considered it proven that its Resolution of 28 October 2010 (C/0230/10 TELECINCO/CUATRO) had been breached and that MEDIASET ESPAÑA COMUNICACIÓN, S.A. had therefore committed a very serious infringement under article 62.4.c) of the Spanish Competition Act 15/2007 of 3 July 2007. Accordingly, it fined MEDIASET €15,600,000 pursuant to article 63.1.c) of that Act.
