CALL FOR PAPERS | EU values in the Digital Ecosystem

MediaLaws is pleased to share a call for papers issued by the Jean Monnet Chair, focusing on the fundamental values of the European Union in the digital environment. This initiative aims to foster academic and professional discussion on the intersection of EU principles and the challenges posed by the digital age.

Proposed Themes:

  • The protection and transfer of personal data in the digital environment
  • Freedom of expression and online disinformation
  • Powers and responsibilities of digital platforms in the context of the European digital
    marketplace
  • Alignment of artificial intelligence tools with European core values
  • Transparency and algorithmic discrimination
  • Digital citizenship and participation in the democratic life of the European Union
  • Digital innovation and people control
  • Online consumer rights
  • Digital monopolies and consumer protection
  • Digitalisation of public administration and fundamental rights
  • Digital Education

Key Deadlines:

  • April 15, 2025: Submission of abstracts (300 words) and a short bio
  • June 1, 2025: Notification of selection results
  • July 31, 2025: Submission of the working paper
  • November 15, 2025: Final deadline for full papers

Who Can Apply?

The call is open to scholars, academics, researchers, and professionals under the age of 40 who are interested in the outlined topics.

Publication Opportunities:

Accepted papers will be published in the “Studies for Political Sciences” series by the Department of Political Sciences, Roma Tre University. Additionally, the Scientific Committee will select innovative working papers for publication in highly regarded national and international peer-reviewed journals.
