Since 2010, MediaLaws has been a vibrant, youthful entity with a keen focus on the latest developments from Italy and around the globe that shape the landscape of the 4.0 era. Our blog, accessible on all major social media platforms, has become a central hub for students, academics, and aspiring legal professionals passionate about the intricate relationship between law and technology.

DICOPO (Digital Constitutionalism and Policy) is a group of scholars, policy-makers and business experts at the forefront of understanding and shape the future of digital governance. DICOPO is based in Brussels and aims to examining the protection of fundamental rights and the exercise of powers in the digital age, improving the awareness of digital constitutionalism among policy-makers, business sector, and society and fostering international collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders to address global challenges in digital governance.

We are seeking Student Executive Editors (SEEs) like you! Collaborate with junior and senior researchers, oversee the blog and news’ updates, and help establish those platforms as the leading resource for discussions on media laws and the intersection of law and technology.

Responsibilities:

As an SEE, you will:

  • Monitor Legal Updates: Track legal cases from international, European, and national courts, and create concise reports for publication.
  • Collaborate with the Editorial Board: Offer initial evaluations of contributions proposed for publication (only for Medialaws).
  • Manage Publications: Play a pivotal role in the publication process, manage ’platforms’ IT tools, and oversee our social media presence.
  • Newsletter: Create, manage and improve the newsletter of Medialaws and DICOPO.
  • Innovate: Propose and generate new digital content ideas to further enrich the blog.

Requirements:

  • Academic Background: University students studying law, economics, or political science (applications from other degree programs will also be considered).
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Italian or English.
  • Knowledge Base: Basic understanding of law and technology (e.g., university courses, seminars, or relevant experience).

Skills You Will Acquire:

  • Editing and Research: Hone your skills in content editing and research, valuable for thesis writing or professional activities.
  • Networking: Work closely with professors and researchers, expanding your professional network.
  • Blog Management: Learn the complexities of maintaining a professional blog.
  • Communication: Improve your communication skills, including social media post preparation.

Interested candidates should send a brief letter of introduction (maximum 500 words) and a CV (specifying year and course of study) by 23 September 2024 to: submissions@medialaws.eu. During the interview that will follow the first recruitment phase, you may express your preference for MediaLaws or DICOPO.

Please note that this collaboration is unpaid and lasts for one year (October 2024 – September 2025). Applications will be evaluated within one week of the submission deadline.
