In the AI Summit held in London on the 1-2 November 2023, all attending countries agreed that AI can pose a potentially catastrophic risk for humanity – and only shared cooperation at international level fan prevent it from happening.

The twenty-eight governments participating to the Summit signed up the so-called Bletchey Declaration, thereby agreeing to cooperate for safe AI development, despite the increasing competition among States on that front.

The People’s Republic of China also agreed to sign the Declaration and advocated for “mutual respect, equality and mutual benefits” in the global development of AI.

Nevertheless, it is yet to be determined whether the international community will eventually agree to shared regulations to constrain the evolution of AI worldwide.
