New members join MediaLaws editorial board

A new team of students and young law graduates has joined the editorial board of MediaLaws effectively November 2020. The board for the academic year 2020-21 will include Caterina Bo, Jacopo Bratta, Aurelia Losavio, Salvatore Rocco and Antonella Sergi. Arianna Antohi and Francesca Corbinelli, student editors for the academic year 2019-20, become supervising editors and are joined in this role by Giulia Casavola. Giulia works as trainee lawyer in Milan, specializing in IP and data protection law. She currently serves as teaching assistant for the courses “Internet law” and “Digital privacy” (course director: prof. Oreste Pollicino) at Bocconi University. She is part of the board of directors of DPO innovation, the first independent network for DPOs in Italy. Her fields of interests are IP, IT and data protection law, constitutional law and competition law.

Caterina Bo
 

Caterina graduated in Law from the University of Pavia in February 2020, with a thesis in the field of copyright, analyzing the legal implications of Text and Data mining techniques for authors and database makers in the European landscape. Since June 2020 she is clerk assistant at the Milan Court of Appeal, first section, where she assists the assigned judge in preparing for hearings and briefs. Since November 2020 she is also a legal trainee working in a law firm based in Milan, where she is gaining experience in the fields of intellectual property law, copyright, consumer law, digital entertainment and information technology. She is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
Jacopo Bratta
 

Jacopo is a recent graduate in Law at the University of Trento. During his studies, Jacopo took part in a bilateral agreement between his university and the University of New England (Armidale, Australia) gaining experience in common law subjects. He also did a thesis research period at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition (München, Germany). His passion for new technologies prompted him to attend the LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology at Bocconi University, tackling a number of recently developed issues, including service provider liability, patent protection and copyright.
Aurelia Losavio
 

 

Aurelia is an International Law student at Bocconi University, attending her last year. She strongly believes that knowledge overcomes borders and this certainty brought her to participate in some abroad programmes. In 2021, she is going to leave for an Exchange Programme, at Freie Universität, in Berlin. While in 2019, she attended the Global Governance Summer Programme at ESADE Ramon Llul University, in Barcelona.  She considers herself a highly motivated person and she always tries to do her best when she wants to pursue her goals. She is a good listener but, at the same time, she can easily express her opinion, when possible. She firmly believes in hard work and in a methodic study, which are the keys for the career she would like to build. Thrilled to be part of MediaLaws Student Executive Editor Team, she thinks that this project combines two of her deepest passions, cyberlaw and writing. Such an opportunity is surely the best occasion, for her, to know more about our complex, digital world.
Salvatore Rocco
 

Salvatore is a fifth-year student enrolled in a MA in Law at Bocconi University. Passionate about IT, IP, Competition and anything that is inherently new, he thinks of Law as the intersection of an infinite number of lines to explore. In the past four years, he has held the role of Member and President at B.S. Advocacy&Litigation, addressing firsthand debated topics such as AI liability, smart contracts, SEPs and social-media advertising. In 2019, he won the Bocconi Merit Award for his academic performance, and next semester he will be an exchange student at the University of Sydney. He joined MediaLaws as an opportunity to foster his knowledge and to understand the digital challenges of the future.
Antonella Sergi
 

Antonella is graduating in Law at the Catholic University of Milan. Passionate about law and legal writing, during her academic career she has always been active in university associations as she firmly believes in continuing education and networking. She held the role of Secretary General and Vice President of ELSA Milan. Currently she is responsible for the Intellectual and Industrial Property section at Cyberlaws.it
